dc.description.abstractScope of work has been to assess performance and the "Business Plan and Budget Sept 1998 to Aug 2000" of Pride Africa Uganda (PA/U). PA/U is a micro finance institution operating in Uganda since January 1996. It is an integrated part of Pride Africa, a NGO registered in USA and located in Nairobi, Kenya. PA/Us main objectives for the next two years is to become seif sustainable (operating without any infusions of grants) and transform 10 a bank. Main conclusions are: PA/U is a well performing organisation. Since inception, it has dcveloped to be one of the biggest rnicro linance institutions in Uganda. The rnethodology in use, and the overall organisational pcrformance is good. The benefits of being part of a the Pride network is acknowledged. It is still heavily dependent upon donor support (grants).en_US
